Barenaked Ladies: Barenaked Ladies emerged in the '90s with a catchy name and kitsch alt-rock hits. For those of you who love their music, more than their namesake, Barenaked Ladies tour dates are scheduled throughout North America. The multi-Platinum funny alt-rockers will be hitting up a venue near you. Don't miss a date on the Barenaked Ladies concert schedule 2011; Use Eventful as your source for Barenaked Ladies tour dates.

The Canadian alt-rock group began with teens, Ed Robertson and Steven Page, classmates in high school who bonded over their love for Peter Gabriel. The duo released their first tape, Buck Naked, in 1989 in their basement, which incorporated humor and guitar riffs but found no success. In 1991, they recorded The Yellow Tape, a demo of original music featuring the final lineup of the group. The tape was only sold at Barenaked Ladies concerts and it became the first independent release by any Canadian band to achieve Platinum status in that country. Barenaked Ladies tour dates were booked on major festivals including South by Southwest in the US and they were subsequently picked up by Reprise Records who released their major label debut - Gordon.

The Barenaked Ladies were on the verge of becoming one of the biggest acts in Canada with the release of Gordon. The album spawned six hit singles on Canadian radio including "Enid", and was certified Diamond. Barenaked Ladies tour dates were booked throughout Canada, but success in America eluded them. They then released Born on a Pirate Ship, and toured North America to tepid success. They finally scored success in the US with their 1998 album, Stunt. This album featured the infectious #1 single "One Week" and was certified four-times Platinum becoming one of the biggest albums of the year. Barenaked Ladies tour dates were scheduled throughout the States, and this time around they were a hit!

Since releasing their biggest album to-date, the group has continued to record and score radio hits. They released Maroon in 2000, and Everything to Everyone in 2003, to coincide with their PeepShow Tour. In 2007, the Barenaked Ladies performed concerts aboard a cruise for fans called the Ships and Dips. The Barenaked Ladies floating tour dates were so successful that they have scheduled the event three more times since the inaugural outing. More recently, the Band released their latest album, All in Good Time, in 2010 which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart. Barenaked Ladies tour dates have been scheduled to promote the disc since its release. They emerged as one of the funniest and clever artists of the past decade. Don't miss a date on the Barenaked Ladies concert schedule when they come to a venue near you. Use Eventful as your source for Barenaked Ladies tour dates and venue information.

Blues Traveler: From the Blues Traveler Wikipedia article:

Blues Traveler is an American jam band from Princeton, New Jersey. Currently, the group is led by harmonica virtuoso John Popper (vocals, harmonica) along with Chan Kinchla (guitar), Brendan Hill (b. March 27, 1970, in London, England, UK) (drums), Tad Kinchla (b. February 21, 1973, in Princeton, New Jersey, U.S.A.) (bass) and Ben Wilson (b. November 17, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.) (keyboards). Tad Kinchla and Ben Wilson joined the band following the death of original bassist Bobby Sheehan in 1999 of a drug overdose in New Orleans. While Blues Traveler is best known among fans for their improvisational live shows, the general public is most familiar with the group from their fourth studio album Four. Released in 1994, the two singles "Run-Around" and "Hook" gained mainstream radio popularity.

Blues Traveler's subsequent releases were not as successful as the quintuple platinum sales of Four, though the band has maintained a loyal fanbase from the beginning of their career. Their albums with A&M in the later 1990s include Straight on Till Morning and Bridge. The group signed with Sanctuary Records and released Truth Be Told on August 5, 2003. Their latest album, ¡Bastardos!, was released on September 13, 2005.

Sheehan's untimely death in 1999 and Popper's struggle with obesity put a damper on the group's success, and A&M dropped the band after low sales of their 2001 album Bridge. However, the band took this transition period as an opportunity to start in new directions musically. Popper, who at one point weighed in at a dangerous 420 pounds, had gastric bypass surgery in 2003 and is no longer obese.
