CBS 11 and TXA 21 will host a free event for special needs children and their families on Saturday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at NorthPark Center (on level one, near Macy’s) in Dallas.

“Stephanie’s Day” is presented by the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Dallas Cowboys Charities in partnership with the Autism Treatment Center. It will feature interactive fun for children and helpful information for parents. Representatives from various healthcare providers, therapy services, camps, advocacy groups and other organizations will offer information on local resources available for special needs children.

“Each year after Stephanie’s Day, we hear from parents who are so grateful to have found valuable information and services for their children, and that’s exactly the reason we do it,” said CBS 11 and TXA 21 President and General Manager Gary
Schneider. “We also think the kids will really enjoy this year’s entertainment and activities.”

The event will feature performances by the Mavs ManiAACs and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey ambassador clowns Slappy and Monday, a demonstration by the Dallas Dog & Disc Club, as well as free activities including face painting, games, music therapy, and more. Scheduled appearances include representatives from the CBS 11 and TXA 21 on-air team, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and the Dallas Mavericks Dancers. Prizes will be provided by the Texas Rangers, the AT&T Performing Arts Center, Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.

This marks the ninth year that CBS 11 and TXA 21 have presented Stephanie’s Day. The event is named in honor of Stephanie Mauldin, the daughter of former CBS 11 and TXA 21 President and General Manager Steve Mauldin, who is now President and General Manager of KCBS and KCAL television in Los Angeles. 22-year-old Stephanie was diagnosed with autism when she was two.

Additional sponsors for Stephanie’s Day include NorthPark Center, North Texas Kids, and CBS RADIO’s 98.7 KLUV, 100.3 Jack FM, 105.3 THE FAN, KRLD NewsRadio 1080, 103.7 Lite FM and MEGA 107.5 fm.
